Visit www.crfloodrun.com for more information. Date: Saturday, June 13, 2009 Location: Downtown Cedar Rapids Cost: $25 ($30 after June 1) Start Time: 9am Start Line: 2nd Ave NE & 5th St NE

Freedom Festival June 18 through July 4 2009:

Each year thousands of eastern Iowa residents and visitors join together to celebrate our nation's birthday by enjoying the many events and activities of the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival. More than 300,000 area residents and visitors attended Freedom Festival 2008 and its extended schedule in late August and early September inspite of the flooding. This year's 26th annual Freedom Festival begins with our inspirational Heroes Luncheon on June 18th and culminates with the annual Celebration of Freedom Fireworks on July 4th. The wide variety of affordable Freedom Festival events and activities is only possible through the very generous business, individual, plus city and county financial and volunteer support. Freedom Festival events and activities provide a broad array of high quality entertainment and educational opportunities geared to local celebrations of freedom and the many interests of our diverse population base. Freedom Festival strives to create many opportunities for individuals to become involved in the Festival. Among them are two very important competitions that help set the look and tone of each new year's Freedom Festival, Artwork Competition, and Tribute to Heroes. The 2009 Freedom Festival Parade will be held June 27, and will follow the traditional Cedar Rapids downtown parade route. This year's parade sponsor is Verizon Wireless.
